BACK-UP TUTORS. COURSE CONTENTS.
Volume 1 is aimed at the raw beginner. It shows how to wear the picks, hold the bar, read the tab, pick and block cleanly and accurately, and generally master all the basic techniques.
Volume 2 follows on and takes things a step further, it even covers a whole song in back-up, ‘Together Again’ ; plus many useful licks and fills.You will need to be able to play all of volume 1 before going onto this volume.
Volume 3 takes a good look at speed picking, plus intros, endings and safety pockets. Two complete songs are mapped out in this one, ‘No, It’s Not Love’ and ‘When Did Right Become Wrong’ .
Volume 4 adds to the collection of licks and fills plus some more intros and endings and includes a nice medley of two songs; ‘Another You’ and ‘It’s Time To Cross That Bridge’ .
Volume 5 adds some more licks and fills and becomes quite difficult. There is one more song in this tutor, a well-known oldie which is still popular today, ‘I Fall To Pieces’ .
Volume 6 is still more difficult. More phrases, licks, vamps and turnarounds, plus another song, quite a difficult one which will test your picking and blocking techniques to the limit; ‘Anger and Tears’ , which is very apt when learning to play the pedal steel guitar.
